Stem Cell Typification Event – Make the first step, become a lifesaver!

On Tuesday, 2024-04-23 and Wednesday, 2024-04-24 from 09:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., a typing campaign will take place in the TUM matriculation hall, Arcisstraße 21. A painless cheek swab is the first step to become a potential lifesaver.

14 lifesavers have already donated
In November 2019 and 2021, successful typing campaigns took place on the campus of TUM, which were organized in cooperation between the student council of the TUM School of Management and the AKB Foundation. Of the 1,008 stem cell donors registered at these events, 14 have already donated stem cells.

A simple cheek swap is all that is needed to be typed
In 2019 and 2021, blood still had to be drawn for typing. Those days are over. A simple, quick and painless cheek swab is all that is needed to obtain sufficient material to determine the tissue characteristics.

Who can be typed?
Not only students are invited to take part in the campaign. The call is directed at all healthy people between the ages of 17 and 45, including lecturers and employees of the University, as well as fellow citizens of Munich who are willing to give hope for a new and healthy life with their stem cells.

It is also important that the new donor has a permanent residence in Germany for at least the next 5 years.

We want to register as many people as possible. However, we also need many volunteers helping us with the registration.

There will be two shifts each day (09:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.). In case you would like to support us and participate in one of the shifts, please register via our registration form.
