Who are we?

We are a dedicated team of TUM SOM student volunteers committed to the best interests of our fellow students. Our mission is to enhance the university experience, provide career advice and offer valuable student counselling services. We represent about 6,000 students at the TUM School of Management, including those in the bachelor and master programmes.

How to join the Student Council?

  • Fill out the application form

    Ready to make a difference? Join the TUM SOM Student Council! Simply fill out our quick online form to kickstart your journey towards leadership and community involvement. Once you’ve signed up, we’ll be in touch to provide you with all the details you need for upcoming meetings and the exciting steps ahead.

  • Become a Trainee

    Embark on your journey as a Trainee with the Student Council! As a Trainee, you’ll spend four months immersing yourself in the world of the Student Council and gaining invaluable insights in your chosen departments. This period is designed for you to learn, grow, and become familiar with the inner workings of our organization.

  • Get involved and find out more about our departments

    Get hands-on experience at the Student Council! During your Trainee period, you’ll actively participate by attending a minimum of four General Student Council meetings and four department meetings. We recommend exploring at least two meetings within the same department to deepen your understanding.

  • Become Active member of the Student Council

    Congratulations on becoming officially an Active member of the Student Council! Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll officially join the Student Council as an Active Member. As a token of our appreciation for your volunteer efforts, you’ll receive a certificate of recognition. Keep up the good work and continue to make a positive impact in our community!
