O-Phase, Buddy Programme & Maths Precourse

The O-Phase is the orientation period before and during your first weeks. It is organised by us, the Student Council, and it is the fastest way to meet your cohort.

Student-to-student info. This guide was built from the experiences of fellow students to make your start easier. Please note that binding information can only come from the official statements of the faculty of TUM School of Management.

What happens during the O-Phase

Bachelor students get the full programme: Meet the SC, Campus Tour, Bavarian Lunch, Welcome Day, Campus Rallye, City Rallye, City Trip and the Freshers' Weekend. Master students join the Campus Tour and Bavarian Lunch, Welcome Day, Campus Rallye, City Rallye and City Trip.

Registration links are published shortly before each event, primarily on our Instagram and in the WhatsApp communities for your intake. Nothing is first-come-first-served without warning, we announce every registration in advance.

Precourse and buddy programme

The maths precourse before the semester is optional but strongly recommended, it refreshes school maths and is where many people meet their first study group.

The buddy programme pairs you with a student from a higher semester who answers exactly the questions you cannot find online.

The exact dates for the upcoming winter semester will be announced here and on our Instagram shortly before the semester starts. Registration is not open yet, but we will make sure you receive the registration links before it opens. No worries!

+How can I register for the events in the O-Phase?

We will release the registration pages and event info soon. Keep your eyes peeled and follow @sctumsom on Instagram. Also make sure you are in the WhatsApp groups!

+How do I sign up for the buddy program?

You should have received a document from the faculty, please check your “Welcome Email”.

+I couldn’t register for the Precourse yet. Can I still attend?

In 2024, it was recorded and streamed live.

I expect it to be the same this year again, but cannot promise.
