Everything you need to know as a fresher to “master” your program

The first couple of weeks of the semester already passed, meaning freshers already attended their first lectures and parties. We, your Student Council, are very glad to welcome you to our big TUM-SOM family and want to share some tips on how to navigate in your exciting student journey by sharing with you our Fresher’s Guide!

This 58-paged encyclopedia contains the most relevant aspects and answers to your questions ranging from exam registration to international experience. If you are still not sure about how to find accommodation in Munich (a rite of passage for many freshmen out there) or how to structure your semester for your program, make sure to check out this guide!

If you do not know where to start, we recommend you familiarize yourself with the section “Student ID” to make sure you have access to cashless payments in Mensa and reserving books in the library. Setting up internet access is also very important if you want to use your gadgets in lecture halls or in many of our study rooms.

If you are already all settled in, feel free to check out different student organizations to engage yourself in student life (especially Student Council ) or ways to finance your studies.
