1. Logging in
Go to www.moodle.tum.de and click "TUM-Kennung / TUM ID". Sign in with your TUM ID (the go##xxx identifier you got with your enrolment) and your TUM password - the same credentials you use for TUMonline and your TUM mail.
If login fails, it's almost always one of two things: your TUM ID isn't active yet (give it a day after enrolment), or you're typing your e-mail address instead of the go##xxx ID.
2. Finding and enrolling in courses
Most management courses use a self-enrolment key. Find the key on the course's TUMonline page (look under "Course material" or in the first lecture's slide deck), then in Moodle open "Site home", search for the course, and paste the key when prompted.
Some lecturers add you automatically once you register in TUMonline, for those, the course just appears on your Moodle dashboard a few hours later.
3. Lecture materials and recordings
Inside a course page you'll typically find: a syllabus, weekly folders with slides and reading, assignment uploads, a Q&A forum, and lecture recordings (often via Panopto, embedded in Moodle). Use the calendar block on the dashboard to keep track of submission deadlines.
4. Submitting assignments
Open the assignment activity, click "Add submission", upload your file(s) and confirm. Always check that the status changes to "Submitted for grading", a saved draft does not count.
5. Notifications and the mobile app
In your profile preferences you can route announcements to your TUM mail. The official Moodle mobile app works with TUM Moodle: choose "tum.de" as the site, then log in with your TUM ID.
Common issues
- Course not visible: you're probably not enrolled yet, check TUMonline or ask the lecturer for the enrolment key.
- Video won't play: disable strict tracking protection for moodle.tum.de and panopto.eu.
- Can't upload: file too large or wrong type, check the assignment's allowed formats.
