About the role
Betriebswirtschaftliche Auswertung (BWA) is the standard controlling report used by German tax advisory firms for their clients. In its current form, it’s more like a ‘wall of numbers’ that its users struggle to understand and make use of.
This study investigates how to increase the value of the monthly BWA using an alternative solution BWA Plus.
BWA Plus systematically analyses underlying accounting data and uses AI where helpful to deliver prioritised findings, supporting evidence, calculation trails and suggested follow-ups. The study tests whether this approach would enable German steuerberater and buchhalter to offer better business advice, controlling and audit support to their clients, hence expanding their role from pure compliance to a higher value advisory service.
