- Every Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) rests on a life cycle assessment (LCA) that an independent verifier must approve before publication.
- ecoverity has cut the cost of creating an EPD to a fraction of what it used to be. Verification has not followed and for many manufacturers now costs more than the study itself.
- With the EU Digital Product Passport, the rules of verification are about to change again.

- Analyzed current EPD market regulations, market players and the main cost drivers
- Analyzed pre-verified tools and the verification rules emerging under the Digital Product Passport
- Developed solutions to address bottlenecks in EPD verification
- Developed a business plan covering product design, pricing and operations
- Planned market entry, including accreditation and pilot projects
👤 Profile
- Team of 2–5 students, mixing business, engineering and sustainability
- Interest in building a venture in a standards-driven field
- Comfortable with regulations, norms and bureaucracy
- Structured, self-directed way of working
- Fluent English, German is a plus
