1960s, actual bonded knit above the knee A line dress with matching JACKET. This is NOT a reproduction.
I love all things vintage,retro, and antique. I wore this outfit about 5 times in the mid 1980's as I had little desire to dress like everyone else. Now in my 60's it is time to pass it on.
Sizing numbers have changed continuously through the decades. I wore this well at a size 6 through small size 8.
If you are hippy, keep in mind a flare or flare-ish skirt(or bottom of a non maxi dress)will cause the back of your dress to be shorter than the front.
Sizing has continued to run larger and larger… especially at certain stores! This means you can pick up an item that fits great and has a much smaller size on the tag than an equally great fitting vintage item
A dress size 6 in the USA in 2024 would be a dress size 12 in the USA in the 1960's. Remember this when you shop Vintage clothing. Depending on the maker, the size could be smaller.
